WakeStock day 3

Saturday, third day at WakeStock and also probably the busiest of all the days as a bunch of bands are playing at the park today. A bunch of bands and Sloan. For some reason that's the only band I recognized and not because I've actually listened to them but because I used to work with one of the performers sister on a TV show a few years ago.

All in all however it was a great day for photos. Action, Sex, and rock and roll. The crazy guys on the motorcycles were at it again. There were of course the wake boarding activities on the shore and taking place in the man made pool with rails. As an added bonus there was the Miss REEF bikini contest (technically they weren't wearing bikinis).


"Look up in the sky..."

While shooting Oliver Black I ran into Francois Dupraz, another Juicy Stuff photographer. Originally we met on another assignment. An artist had transfered his painted images onto a T-shirt line. Our editor assigned Francois to cover it not knowing I was already going. I got a direct invite from the promoter.

We walked around the event to find food and ended up watching the motorcycle guys flying through the air.

This wide shot gives you an idea of how high up they are.

On the way down one of the riders landed with no hands. The audience cheered and after that stunt the audience cheered whenever that rider was about to do a stunt, while doing the stunt and after the stunt.

My day at WakeStock ended with the Miss Reef Canada contest. I handed my photo pit pass over to Francois and headed out over to Wards Island and the New Adventures in Sound Art.
